About Colleen - Personal Highlights
Colleen is mother to four wonderful boys and five grandchildren! Her eldest son, Ian and family live in Moncton, New Brunswick, step-sons, Dean and Russ, live and work on the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.and youngest son, Cory, lives at home and is working through his University education!
Colleen has been committed to personal growth for more than a decade and considers the Centre for Self-Awareness her spiritual home. She has enjoyed numerous seminars in a series called Relationships: The Work of Love and in 1999 trained as a Lay Counsellor at the Pacific Centre for Family Development in Victoria, BC.
Colleen's passion is "people" and her affiliation with Rotary International and its ideal of "service above self" epitomizes her commitment to community service and making the world a better place. She has traveled extensively to Africa since 2006, particularly to Ethiopia and Malawi, developing wonderful relationships with local people in those countries and assisting in the vaccination of children against polio, helping women suffering from Obstetric Fistula and clean water initiatives. As well, Colleen volunteers for many local community initiatives including the Langford Affordable Housing Program.
Colleen has many interests, including her partner Gilles, travel, golf, walking, gardening, writing & eating out! She considered it a fine day the first time she broke 100 on the golf course - especially as there hasn't been many times since! Some of Colleen's favourite things are: time with her family, balloons, flowers & the view over the lake from her sundeck!
